Let Thy Be True

Location

To be true or to not be true, that is the question;

For walking through life with the mask of the untrue

Would arouse the unhappiness that hangs above.

No rising of thy lips, no shine in thy eyes,

All hell would break loose!

My mind collapse into darkness,

Anger flood deep within the crevices of thy heart.

Thy stomach empty of the fruits God hath bear.

For walking through the halls with no one but myself,

No person, no animal, no spirit hangs about.

Lash out; break down, tears staining thy cheeks!

Or ‘tis be better to have mind’s revelation

Of whom I am and want to be?!

To skip and laugh with soul’s joy of life.

Dancing to the music God hath brought,

Rejoicing in ecstasy.

Tears of joy or sadness be authentic,

Following thy apparent mood.

‘Tis nobler through the happiness of truth

Than the misery of imitation.

To be true or to nor be true, that is the question.
