Let us be
Love is love
It's a gift to us from Him above
Black and Mexican, Indian and white
That issue is gone, we've won that fight
We've now turned that page to a whole 'nother chapter
The next issue limiting our happy ever after
It's not quite clear to me how they see this fight
You can be underage and that's perfectly alright
Seventeen with two kids, have no hope
But they are allowed to legally elope
Two girls, college grads, happy and successful in life
One girl wants more than anything to make the other her wife
But society sees this as something wrong
Even though we've been fighting this fight for so long
Christians will say it's against their religion
But that statement is based solely on a single provision
The bible can say different things
depending on how it's read
People read it one way and assume that's all He said
But God does not hate people who are gay
"He loves everybody" and that's what we always say
He is, however against the sin itself
A sin like many you commit yourself
A sin is a sin, He sees them the same
From commiting murder to cursing his name
Sins are not divided by a level of shame
A sin is a sin, but He loves us the same
With that being said, it makes no sense
How can they ban love and be so against?
Society will soon come to see
Love is love, let us be.
