Let Us Be

For once I wish,

that every tomorrow was

the same as today.

I find myself thinking,

while curled up in fright,

of all the things

that could happen.

Feeling alone and

surrounded in chaos.

Violence that will strike,

without a trace of mercy,

at any time

of any day.

I wish that all of this hate,

and all of our fears,

and doubts,

and wishes for death,

and self-consciousness,

and anxieties

would stop.

And let us be.
