Let Us Dance
In the beginning,
We were fools.
Chasing each other around a rosebush full of thorns
Lost in the beauty of love
But we were too young to understand why
And now we know and stay up all night and cry.
Since then, there have been blood and sweat and tears
Arguments and pain going on for years
Drowning us, burying us in the deepest of graves
Scratching at the coffin, trying to escape
But when the moment comes we get swept away,
All over again, lost in the love of our best friend
But life is a cycle and soon you see
That escape was a trap, the grave was destiny
But for tonight, let me hold you tight
Look into those starry eyes and remember why
I chased you around and around.
Remind me why you're worth being put in the ground
Tickle my lips with yours
Brush away the pain
And for tonight...
Let us dance in the rain
