let us remember

Let us remember

when I wrote my first poem

My teacher would take them and then show ‘em

To other people who seemed mildly invested

And then i’d pass every time i got tested

Let us remember

How it was in ELA

We’d have to decipher a poem and then annotate

I’ll always remember how writing was my only escape

And little old me always thought it was great
