let us write
there's really only one light
the sun above
it shines so bright
and i'm touched until night
then i'm lost
but the thing about being lost is
that you have the freedom to wander
the freedom to wonder
who am I and who are all these people?
why am I this and why am I that?
it's all about the freedom until
you're enslaved
then it's lost again
because even though you're bound, you're confused
and now you have more questions
was lost better than found?
what happened to being safe and sound?
tell me this, tell me that
i'm confused I want no more
unchain me! unchain me!
open up the door that locks me with myself
cuts me off from the world that may
give me more rest
than the voices, oh the voices
they're terrible
but when i'm lost at least they can
talk to other voices
they're not alone
but neither am I
bound by oppression
desiring to fly
and all it does is take time
which doesn't happen in one
flicker of the light
