TO LET YOU GO

- TO LET YOU GO –

WRITTEN BY DLYNK (Debi Lyn) ON 01/17/16

THO I DIDN’T WANT TO LET YOU GO,

MY LOVE REFUSED TO LIVE A LIE.

WHEN YOU CHOSE ANOTHER WOMAN,

MY BROKEN HEART TRIED HARD TO SAY GOODBYE.

OH, HOW IT HURT ME. YES, IT HURT ME

IN SO MANY WAYS YOU SURELY COULDN’T KNOW.

BUT IT DID; IT HURT ME DEEPLY, AND

BECAUSE IT’S TRUE, I SHOULD HAVE LET YOU GO.

WE BOTH KNOW I DON’T WANT YOU TO GO.

WHEN YOU PUT YOUR ARMS AROUND ME, I GROW WEAK.

BUT YOU DIDN’T CHOOSE TO MAKE ME YOURS,

AND ONCE I’M GONE, ANOTHER’S WHAT YOU’LL SEEK.

OH, HOW YOU HURT ME. YES, IT STILL HURTS ME

IN SO MANY WAYS PERHAPS YOU DIDN’T KNOW.

BUT YOU DID; YOU HURT ME DEEPLY, AND

I KNOW IT’S TRUE; I NEED TO LET YOU GO.

I DON’T EVER WANT TO LET YOU GO;

TIS WHY YOU STILL BID MY LONELY HEART TO STAY.

BUT BY STAYING WHERE I DON’T BELONG

THIS PAIN HAS NOT BEEN FAR AWAY.

OH, HOW YOU HURT ME. YES, YOU HURT ME

IN SO MANY WAYS YOU SURELY HAVE TO KNOW.

INDEED YOU HURT ME DEEPLY, DARLING.

& IT’S TRUE THAT I MUST SOMEHOW LET YOU GO.

I was engaged and had moved in with my fiance - ring on finger and date set...

but he was still "out there" - playin the field. And when he grew bored with me, he started

playing another. When I finally called it off, he made up stories about why I was living

in his house and well, just all sorts of stuff.

Even after we'd moved out [my 14 yr old son and I] he would come to visit me and

torment me with kisses and acting like he still loved me. I felt like a world class fool.

Maybe that's exactly what I was... but the pain was still real.

He wound up MARRYING her! And he'd still [to this very day] be willing to come over

here and "make love" to me if I'd let him. SMH - word wielding, game playing.... UGH

I've since cut loose this weight of foolishness! <3
