Let Yourself Let Go

Consumed amongst the innards or our being

We wonder what it is we are seeing

These constant feelings of regret and neglect

Living through the little we can collect

Our diminished beings can't withstand this remembering

The knowledge of our past mistakes

Is enough to leave us lying uncomfortably awake

My remedy is balladry

I spend those nights encrypting my sickening past

The pencil sets me free

My memories are flushed onto the pages

I can so freely live once again
