Let's Be Honest

I promise to write every day,

Even if it’s only a sentence

Or a short paragraph

That kinda sucks

And sounds like I was drunk

When I wrote it

Because I need to write

And I need to read

In order to get anywhere.

I’m so scared that I’m not good enough

To be a writer

That makes money from

Writing

Or by condensing thoughts

And hopes

And fears

Into words

That other people understand

And want to read

And I often wish that

I could go back

To when I didn’t matter

Because that’s when I was the most brave.
