letter
I received a letter the other day
It was from an old friend
We our no longer friends
The letter revealed layers upon layers of allegations
Of what I stole from her
It must have been as high as the hat that laid upon Doctor Seuss’s head
Screaming the words Look at me! Look at me now!
My favorite lines from The Cat in the Hat
I decided I would read it
From the first line I could tell her mother wrote it
She never knew that big of a word
So I decided I had to read in her mothers voice
Concerning yet, letting splits of blame slip through every
space between the words.
Like she’d never admit that her daughter is as blonde as
Regina George from the mean girls
Dressed in pink to hind the plastic wicked within
The next six pages listed all the things I stole
Apparently I stole
Her future Boyfriends
Every guys attention
Her friends inside jokes
And her job
My first thought was
Wow! I must be as talented as Nicolas Cage from National Treasure
Maybe I turn into Casper at night
How in the world did I pull all this off
I’ve always dreamed as being as amazing as shego from Kim possible
With her beautiful black locks
Glowing Lime green
I think im glowing
What a confidence boost
I Find hilarious that Im the one painted as a home wrecker.
While her daughter insists on talking to guys that are already taken
Like she has no remorse for the girl he is hurting on the other side
She is too blinded to see that to him she is merely a body
I pity her
No! I demand respect
I don’t turn my head the other way
I have to much value within me
I choose what I want to wear
not to catch a boys eye
Yes! I said boy because a man
Would steal my attention by
Writing 365 letters like Noah wrote to Allie
He build me a library like the beast built bell
He’d crave to know my mind
Not the curves of my body
Her friends are still her friends
I have not received an invitation
Since the day we stopped talking
When I saw one the other day she gave the bitterest look
Like she was threaten that if she talked to me
she would be ostracized
Like Emma Stone in Easy in A
Don’t worry the inside jokes no longer include me
They are about me
Her job was never taken from her
Putting her two week notice in was her choice
She quit on her own
I was not raised to be a follower
Cartoons of my time created leaders
The last line of the letter said
Please try to put yourself in my shoes
I was flabbergasted
Why on earth would I put my new pedicured foot in your three sizes too big of a shoe
I can see from here that they are not worn out
Cinderella never asked her step-sisters to squeeze their foot in her glass slipper
She knew they could not handle a day in her life
Im sorry im to busy wearing the soles out of mine
Do I look like Dorothy to you?
I think not!
and you surely are no
Glinda
