Letter From an Acquaintance

If I could write to myself
It would be a letter
not a text message,
not an email,
not a Facebook pm, not an Instagram dm
it would be a letter
describing how much I hate you
Every peppy smile
and enthusiastic thumbs up
to strangers you have never met;
like me: your reflection, your shadow
your was, will, and never
You cannot see me.
I cannot SEE YOU.
So I write this letter TO YOU, Danzlear
to tell you how much I love you,
every silent chuckle
every rap lyric
every political joke
that no one understands but YOU
oh yea, and before I forget,
p.s., Mommy said to go to the store
and buy one half gallon of milk
she said make sure its whole milk
and not that quote "1 percent bullshit"
Anyways, where was I
Oh that's right, my rant to you
who is me, who never was you
but always was me
You think your SO cool
always dressing formally casual
like your going somewhere
Where. are. you. going?!
This is the part where you say something
you think is motivational
but is actually corny
like: I ain't going nowhere but UP

Negro please.

Sincerely,

Concerned
