A letter to all of my “no”s

When

I was lazy

I thought I was as good as I could get

I was weak

I was strong

I was motivated

I was not

“No”

Rang bright and clear

“No”

Pushed me higher

“No”

Made me work

“No”

Made me prove I was worth

“Yes”

Just one

Small

Crisp

Fragile

“Yes”

So I’d like to thank my

“No”s

Because now

I’m worth

Bigger

Better

“Yes”s
