A Letter for Cupid’s Day
,
Dear Grandpa,
Cupid’s day is almost here
Hearts, candy, flowers fill the stores
Jewlery ads are everywhere
Reminding us “it’s time to get yours”
Cupid’s day is for romantic love
A celebration of two hearts drawn close
A time to embrace the one you place above
The day you show the world who you treasure most
Cupid’s day a year ago
You left us behind, Lord called you home
It was time for us to let you go
But we know we are not alone
Cupid’s day will never be the same
Grandma lost her one true love
Her love still shines but her body grows lame
I fear that soon she’ll be called above
Cupid’s day is almost here
Reminding us to celebrate love
Filling our so we have no fear
As you keep watch on us from above
Your loving grandson,
Andrew
