A Letter to a Distant Memory I Call Myself

Dear me,

I have felt so lost today,

even my tears do not know where to go.

My head doesn't know what to think,

My heart doesn't know what to feel.

The path that I once followed

somehow vanished beneath me.

I only have a recollection,

but no direction of where I was going.

While on the path,

I was distracted by a firefly.

Only to my disappointment

was only a moth in false light.

He promised to guide me,

then left me stranded here.

I am nothing more

Than a distant memory.

I wrote to remind you

Please never forget,

If you somehow find yourself again

Trust no one, especially not your heart.
