Letter Enclosed
Dear Life,
You've left me broken, battered, shrouded
by scorn,
Yet you've kept my heart going so I
Musn't mourn.
There are worse things that happen; people leave all the time.
There are people alone out there whom no one will find.
It's funny to think that some time ago
I thought about leaving you to;
I didn't.
I'm still here; for as long as there is struggle in the world I can't take the easy way,
But some will.
I am not one to judge,
But who knowing that there are those who have it worse think it right to leave.
Not I,
nor should anyone think in such a way.
For as long as sturggle exists then time is all we ever have;
Why squander it and end your time with the beauty you, Life, provide us.
Flowers, the sky all these will have the same beauty throughout time,
and the only way to see them is to honor you, our Life.
Then honor you I shall now and forever.
Sincerely,
Joseph N. Howe
