A Letter to the Girl Drowning in Nostalgia

You need to stop
Stop trying to build bridges out of ashes
You spent so much time
Setting things a blaze
Did you ever consider the reasons
You left everything back there
And you rebuilt
Moved forward
Rebuilt
Moved forward
Rebuilt
You burnt these bridges so you couldn’t turn back
Stop fucking trying to build bridges out of ashes
You’ll just end up staring
Back at broken places
And empty spaces
Like the ones between your fingers
And you’ll never make it back
To your highest low.
