A Letter To God
My arms reach out to You,
Farther than the sun.
How close You are to me,
Your love has just begun.
Though my sins are endless,
You chose to give to me.
When all seems dark and lost,
You show me how to see.
If I have learned anything,
You were the one who taught.
Hopelessness was never an option,
For all of the answers You brought.
All this time I was never alone,
You are always by my side.
For all of humanity You sent
Your only begotten son to die.
Through laughter and mockery,
He hung there on the cross.
Taking our sins with Him,
His life was what He lost.
In short time He came to You,
Risen from the dead.
God, the debt will never be repaid,
We simply return Your love instead.
