A letter of hard work

Dear who may this concern

For it may be a time that your life isnt about

It may be a time when things are right

It may be a time where people don’t think right to fight

You know what they say

When a person doubts

Often times they the forgotten abouts

For you may ask?

But surely it's just a simple task

All you need to do is set those people in the past

I was told a guy like me couldn't push himself to succeed

I was told I shouldn't even start on a team

I was told I be sitting on the bench watching the others fight to clench

But that's when the spark took flight

And I pushed myself to limits unknown

Though the support of my *family friends and foes

I knew it was time for me to shine

During these times my *dad would make a major impact of waking me up at 4 A.M. to lift

Hearing that alarm beep, beep, and buzz made my body ache and I knew I wanted to quit

But then I remembered why I was here in the first place, to prove to the people who have ever shown a doubt

As the days turned into weeks and weeks into months

I did see improvement

I did get faster

I did get stronger

The Sunday before summer sizzling tryouts

I got ahold of the gas guzzler and drove down to see the wise wonder to seek advice for this test

My *grandfather put down the clicker and he told me to sit

For I knew I was in for a story I couldn't miss

My grandfather said with the softness of his breath

No matter the outcome upon this test you surely will achieve about the best

Day 1 during the dim tryouts we surely knew what was to come

I put on my new set of shoe spikes for I knew it was go time

As the others and I got on the line

coach blew his whistle (!)-

And all of a sudden I shot off like a pistol

Watching the others run behind me, my mind said to me fast, faster, faster you must go

In the end I finished before the rest

But yet not done with this simple task

I had to save everything alast

My coach called me over for cuts

He told me I achieved something others couldn't

So that’s when I knew I made this team by just putting a little effort towards me

As of now my team is 6-1

As we strive we work with pride

I proved to those who ever shown a doubt

In the end as our season goes my goal of proving those who show even the slightest of doubt will never come to an end when I am about

So young foe all you need is to show a little hard work

And a bright mind to make that path that others cannot reach
