LETTER TO HEAVEN

LETTER TO HEAVEN

Dear Heaven,
I heard that
At thy beautiful gate and street
Lay many treasures
Of silver, gold and sapphire
But in the midst of your abundance,
Why do you watch in silence,
While the poor and needy
Die in poverty and starvation,
Here on earth?

I heard that
The Father watches
Over us from above,
But why are the wicked
Allowed to rule and
Eat the good of the land,
While the Good ones die young
In hunger and lack?
And the wicked dine in abundance,
While the poor in spirit
Perish in toil and hard labor
In this world……….

I have heard the stories
About angels
Dwelling among men.
But why is the world
Still corrupt
With man fighting solely
For his own interest and personal gains
Without caring for the plights
Of a brother in need?

I heard that you
Hear the cry of an orphan and poor widow
But why do they still suffer
And languish in anguish
While the rich make endless
Merry and celebrations?

Heaven please!!!!!
I have cried my fill,
But it seems no one above
Cares to listen,
I have heard the
Poor and sick
Cry in painful agony,
But yet,
Man is too busy doing nothing
To be his brother’s keeper.

O’ Heaven please!!!!!
Look down from above
And witness
The evil of man
In this generation
For it seems you are on vacation…….

Heaven please!!!!!
Forgive my manners
And arrogance,
For who am I to question the Divine?

I am only a Poor vessel,
Overwhelmed with love and compassion,
A lone voice interceding
For the voiceless and hopeless.
So Help me God…………

Your wayward Servant
With a heart of love
Pleading for mercy
And compassion for those perishing………
