A Letter To The King

Dear Father,

I know we don’t talk

I know we don’t speak

I know that you live

Far from this peak

But I came with a message

That is so hard to hear

About my life

Which is just sheer

Madness and rage

And a waste of space

Money, time, and even grace

The truth is I’m dumb

Far below the average

Incapable of being

More than a savage

I speak without filter

Without a strand of pride

Unable to move

The slightest of tides

Sadly I’m a bird

Lacking in wings

An African boy

But not a King

My vision is null

My message is void

Of any meaning

Making me less than a toy

I apologize for this truth

But I can no longer lie

About being more

Than any other guy

Your Son,
