A Letter to Life

I take part in this thing called life

Every day

I work

I slave

Yet I reap no rewards

Wake up life

And show me you care

A pat on the back

A blessing sent my way

A bonus at work

Just one fortunate happening

That is all I ask for

But I forgot

I am not a star

On Hollywood Boulevard

Who receives praise from all

So there I go

Unnoticed

Unloved

Unblessed

In this thing called life
