A Letter to Love

A Letter to Love

Part 1: Love’s Cry for Help

Love.

This four letter term is so complex in it’s nature, essence, appearance

I probably won’t cover everything but I’ll do the best I can.

Love.

Even Merriam Webster couldn’t fit the meaning into one sentence.

Maybe love doesn’t want to be defined.

Perhaps it wants to remain boundless, because if it is too narrowly defined, it might be too hard to find

You see, maybe love doesn’t want to be found.

Now, that is not to say it is not meant to be had, but for all one knows, love could be tired of being sought after

Could it be possible that love is sick of us becoming sick in our search for some tangible object of attachment, devotion, or admiration?

It is even conceivable that love is over the idea that we created the idea of love.

You want to know what our idea of love is?

Pain, tribulation, fear

Love is tired of us ruining love

We equate this endearing term to Hurt

It is not love that hurts us, rather it is the people we love.

You see, love was not born with flaws. We genetically modified it with our toxic pesticides of torment and hate.

Why would you want to be with somebody that only makes you worse?

In all honesty, love wants nothing to do with us.

In all honesty, I can’t blame it.

We have tarnished the name of love.

Part 2: An Explanation and a Plea for Forgiveness

Dear Love,

On behalf of my family, friends, enemies, associates, situations and all others who do not fit into those categories, I am sorry.

I apologize for the way that we hurt you.

The way in which we demolished your good name and turned it into a disintegrated pile of ash and heartache.

It is not your fault that we were given the gift of turning things of fervor into failure.

We should not have taken it out on you.

You are consistently constant with your presence in the atmosphere.

Whether we have you or not, you are nonetheless there.

You see, despite our seemingly endless ability to excavate you, you are the best thing that we do

My plea for you is that you do not indefinitely evacuate

Without your excellent subconscious presence in the back and forefront of our minds, we are nothing

Because, as mentioned before, though it may be perplexing due to the fact that we are so extremely horrible at it and so exceptionally good at destructing it… love is the best thing we do.

Sincerely,

Me
