A Letter to a Man with One Ear

Dearest Vincent

I'll never understand how...

I'll never understand how you could do it.

Your heart was so big, never meant for mortal men

You loved too much for us to understand.

I'll never understand how a man so beautiful...

Could take his own life.

We loved you so much

You'll never understand

How you changed our lives

Or how song writers would take your life with such care.

The stars lost their shine

The sunflowers lost their yellow

And the sky lost its glow

You left a mark

I'll never understand...

How such quotes could make me feel worth

Something more than a speck...

On this world

Without the one who taught me to love

like the man with one ear.

From,

A lover, just like you.
