Letter to the missing piece

Dear Oma,

I wish you were here to see my life

I wish you were here to see my smile

I wish you were here to laugh a little more

I wish you were here to live

I’ve grown up and forgotten your voice

I’ve grown up and fought many battles

I’ve grown up and have seen the beauty

I’ve grown up and have seen the pain

You were my rock

The person who could always make me smile

You brought out the best

But I lost you when I was young

I just want one more day

I want to swim in your pond

I want to bake cookies with you

I want to spend the night at your house

I want your love that I could feel in your smile

Sincerely, Ivy
