Letter to My Abusive Ex.
Dear ex,
Life was good for a while.
You treated me well,
you had ambitions,
and I supported you.
You said you loved me.
You said I was the best person to ever come into your life.
I have never felt love like this before.
After a few months though,
you completely transformed.
From a happy and giddy police cadet,
to a verbally abusive monster.
I don't know why you became the way you are now.
Maybe it was the long hours?
Maybe it was the fact I was clingy?
Whatever the reason,
that doesn't matter now.
You hurt me in more ways than one.
You ignored me at school.
You sent me mean texts,
blaming me for the things that went wrong in your life.
You became angry when I came back from riding and training my horses,
saying I was out screwing other men,
and not paying enough attention to you.
I was heartbroken when you left.
But now,
you mean nothing to me.
Life was good for a while.
I'm glad you're gone.
