A Letter to My Best Friend

Dear MooMoo,

Before I met you my life was a wreck.

I was lost, dazed, confused.

Yeah, I had that million dollar smile plastered on my face

But it was only a disguise.

A disguise to hide my real persona that I refused to show to the world.

Day after day, I tried to conform myself in to what society wanted to see.

I twisted, distorted, mangled myself to make others happy.

I prayed for the day to come when I could just be myself.

And on that bright sunny day in seventh grade,

My prayers had been answered.

All I want to say is thank you.

Thank you for being that energetic person.

Thank you for being the one whose smile could make others smile.

Thank you for teaching me that it’s okay.

It’s okay to fall and make mistakes.

It’s okay to be different.

It’s okay to be you.

Thank you for taking me on unforgettable adventures.

Thank you for letting me help you change the world, for taking action!

Thank you for loving me,

For me.

Love,

Your Best Friend
