Letter to my Dad

Dear Dad,

this is an event that neither of us were prepared for

But it never warns us,it comes and goes so quickly that we were frozen in time

wish I could ask time to return

to return because we weren't ready

to  return so we could spend more time together

to return so you could shower us with the love we need

to return to make changes

to return to give us a chance to be prepared for the worst while still enjoying the best

Time

The indefinite continued progress of existence and events:

in the past

time gave us the chance to smile together

the chance to share  jokes that only we'd understand

a chance to share happy meals and trips

a chance to watch movies together

time gave us the chance to love and appreciate each other

Time gave you the chance to be a good Father to your daughters

Time

The indefinite continued progress of existence and events:

in the present

time has surprised us all

time has taken you away from us

time has hurt us to the core

caused us indescribable pain

time won't give us the chance to say goodbye

Thought I would have you forever

But your time was up

And that was the saddest time of my life

Time

the indefinite continued progress of existence and events

in the future

the love you left us with will live on

the memories built on time will never fade away

the sacrifices you made will never be in vain

across our hearts we'll scrape your name

i miss you

but now you're free from pain and sorrow

My love is in your heart and yours in mine

so Daddy we will never be apart

i will cherish the love we share

and never forget how much you cared

and someday we'll be together

because love lives forever

its hard to bear not having you

all  can do now is wait for the day that we will meet again

and time will return and allow you to walk beside us again
