Letter to My Mom.
Dear Mom, I know we don’t talk
But but just once, let’s go on a walk.
Maybe even get some tea
I want you to get to know me.
Mom, I know you’ve lived a hard life
You had to work, and go through oh so much strife.
But I want you to know,
That you’re my hero.
Despite this however,
It’s an important endeavour
That you try to understand
The next words that I say.
Mother, you have so much impact on my life.
Your words could cut me as if they’re a knife.
And you don’t even really realize that,
Sometimes you treat me as a doormat.
Your expectations they feel so high
In fact they’ve made me cry.
I’m not the smartest kid around
And nor can I become one, mentally sound.
I know I’m you try your best
But I feel the burden of this crest
Is far too great for me alone.
I get why you want me to
Do so well in everything too.
And I understand the issues
That your parents put you through
But I need you too see
That you are not me
You do not feel, or think
In any semblance that I do.
So mother dear, I hope you find
That I can not be the best
I am one who needs to rest
And I’m sorry not being able
To lift this burden off the table.
But mother know what I do,
That I will always love you.
