A letter to my mother
I'll walk in your foot steps mother but, will that take me anywhere? Will I progress and get to travel the seven seas like I always wanted? I have watched you struggle ever since the first time I could open my eyes. How is that you want the same for me? Do you not love me? Maybe I am suffering because of the resemblance I have from my father. Who knows ... I have watched you each and everyday wash the walls of a stranger house and I have started to feel the aches in your back , the pain that seems as if knives are entering your feet. But, yet you influence me to take on "the family tradition." Where is the woman who preaches to me about how goals are endless and life is more than I could ever expect? I could go on forever and probably would never get the answers to the questions I ask here. However, you will forever be my beautiful black queen and my motivation. Looking in your eyes every day after a long day of work I see that you really believe in me. You don't show it but, I see it mother we will have more. I'm sorry that I have to let you down. But, at the strike of twelve I'm packing everything and I'm leaving. When you awaken you'll find this hold on to it. Just know I'm coming back , and when I do you will never lift another hand to wash anything. Goodbye Mother.
