A Letter to My Mother

You were never good, never stable

You were always cruel, and you will never change

You are the chip on my shoulder.

I raised children that weren’t mine.

I picked you up when you knocked yourself over.

I never got the chance to be a child, because of you.

We will never be together again.

We will always be broken.

We could never be a family.

You never deserved us.

I will never be the same.

We deserved so much better than you.

So how does it feel mother, knowing you broke both of us, and we can never be put back together.
