A Letter to my Wife

Dear…. On….a memorable day I began a new chapter with you in my life On this day I chose to wed my wife Our first dance, “A ribbon in the sky” Even though I couldn’t dance It was our special day so I had to try Married to quick though Assuming it was going to last The first couple of years… it went by so fast At the start We were just happy… Way in over our heads, In too deep Running off together But the cliff of life for us was way to steep. We only knew the bare Minimum about each other Like we both kept secrets… Like we weren’t true lovers… And we also didn’t account for the future... But we did have a crazy ride On this hell of an adventure. Not knowing where we Were gonna go Young and wild at the time, And just going with the flow. Sadly what I saw in you At the beginning I don’t see no “mo” It’s dim…the light that once glowed. But now that we’re older We can see more clearer No more cloudy windows And no more dirty mirrors I hope no harsh feelings Come with this divorce As we part ways And chart a new life course…
