letter to my younger self

dear nine-year-old-self,

wrap that cloth around your head. you'll be afraid, and the
initial response from your friends might hurt. but this decision will help
you become a stronger person and enable you to a world of connection
that transcends cultural barriers. and one day, you'll decide that slight burden
of the cloth doesn't hold any power unless you give it.

love,
fatima
