Letter to Myself
Darling, I see you.
I see you falling asleep thinking of him every night, and waking up crying when you dream of him.
I see you planning out every time you meet, and being disappointed when it doesn’t play out the way you planned.
I see you, embarrassed in class because you weren’t paying attention… thinking of him.
Darling. Lovely. It will get easier. You will one day fall asleep and not dream of him.
One day, you’ll come across a picture of him… and you’ll be okay. This won’t last forever. Find peace in that fact. Even though you will always love him, it won’t always hurt so damn bad.
