A Letter to Myself

Dear J:

Your reality is perfectionism.

Sounds like an amazing trait to have.

Continuously driven.

Continuously productive.

Continuously perfect?

Maybe continuously desperate.

Procrastination.

A side effect of perfectionism.

Don't have the motivation.

You have the temptation to

sleep

sleep

sleep all the problems away.

Dream away the failure;

the fear;

the worthlessness;

the disappoinment....

Pathetic. Worthless. Not good enough. Inferior. Stupid.

Sucked in a vortex - I can't breathe

a bottomless pit of darkness - I can't see

locked in this cage - I can't feel

stuck in a time loop that never ends - I can't, I can't, I can't!

An endless vicious cycle that repeats itself over and over and over and over...

until

there's

nothing

left.

Stop.

Perfection is not reality.

Perfection is unattainable.

Take care of yourself.

Your health matters.

You are special.

You are loved.

You are cherished.

Achievements don't define you.

You will be valued, simply because you are who you are.

With love,

You
