A letter to myself

August 13, 2017

Sweetie,

Trust.

Don’t give up. Don’t block everyone out.

It’s a hard concept to wrap your head around sometimes. Giving someone the power to control your mind and heart is difficult, even harder to fulfill after realizing you put it in the wrong hands.

Not everyone will be there supporting you forever and you have to realize that, sooner or later.

Yes, you did trust.

Yes, it was broken

Yes, times are tough right now.

You’ve lost people. People you loved and cared for. Friends who may or may not have genuinely cared about you. But don’t give up. No matter what.

...

And you didn’t. You made it babygirl. You said you wouldn’t be able to live another day and look at us now. Almost 2 years later and we’re looking back at the days when you said you didn’t want to see another sunset.

Here we are watching the beautiful rays sink into the horizon.

Here we are now, reflecting back on a time when seconds felt like hours and minutes felt like days.

We’ve grown. And I’m proud of you. From the day you realized that you have yourself,

Self-sufficiency led the path and you slowly started recovering. Started growing into the woman you are today.

And we’re still growing.

No, you haven’t met perfection.

No one has. It’s not easy.

Nothing is.

Some days will still be difficult.

It’s okay to cry, cry it all out.

Wipe those tears and remind yourself that if you made it once, you can do it again.

Nothing is harder than the obstacles you create for yourself.

We can conquer the world

We can get through anything together.

I love you and you should too.

Your biggest supporter,

You
