A Letter to myself

When you get your first dollar,
don't spend it on the ice-cream man.
When you get to first grade,
read and do what you're told to do.
You won't flunk.

There are good people and bad people.
I was never good at making friends,
So I never knew the difference.
Young one, trust your instincts,
and meet good people.

Young one, I never enjoyed school.
I hated it so much that I became lazy.
Don't become lazy through 6th grade and forward.
Time ticks faster than you know it.
There will be fun days and boring days.

Young me, don't spend your Twenty's recklessly.
Save it for the things you'll need,
Not for the things that you have to have.
You'll live without them.
Someday, you'll be happier you did this.

There will be times when you go to the grocery market,
Or to Walmart.
Don't buy candies or chips so much.
In five or ten years, they'll start to go bland,
And you'll have stomach aches from eating Cheetos.

Unhealthy child, you from the 7th grade.
I wish to tell you to stop eating unhealthy.
Don't just eat noodles when you feel like you can't make anything.
Learn to cook for yourself and your family,
And don't eat noodles everyday.
