A Letter to an Old Friend

Dear Old Friend,

Remember the days when we would talk for hours on the phone?

The days when we would play in your house every single day?

The day when we wore those friendship necklaces every day, and

You told me that we would be best friends forever?

Does "BFF" mean anything to you now?

I cherish the rare text messages from you,

And I secretly hope that you still love me,

because I still love you.

No matter where you are now, or what's going on with your life right now,

I still love you,

And I miss you

I miss you,

I miss you.

I hope that life is being kind to you right now because you deserve it.

I don't deserve this.

I was a great friend to you.

Please, if I did anything wrong, just tell me,

I want to restore the happiness that we both shared.

All that has happened is that we grew up.

But that's just a stupid excuse.

Love,

your former BFF

p.s. I still have the necklace that you gave me
