Letter to Papi
Dear Papi,
It's been awhile, though I can still hear your voice; I can still see your smile. Thanks for teaching me how to live in my own unmistakable style. How to navigate the world around me with tenacity and guile. How to take the information given and appropriately file, all of what it is I need to reach the top of the pile. I always wanted to ask you Papi how you got so wise? Did you grow into it over time, or did it start when you were my size? The fact that you taught me so much comes as no surprise, and the knowledge and love you have given me is the possession I most prize! When I have had problems in my life you told me to get back up and try, and then to turn that try into success and my limits would eclipse the sky. For only when you leave the nest do you truly learn to fly, and know the nest never leaves your heart so there is no need to cry. You taught me that the truth can never be denied. That I could look elsewhere to find the truth, but I should ALWAYS look inside. And that pride is knowing where you are from, while still willing to see the other side. And I knew one day you would go away like the ocean at low tide. However what you left behind for me allows me to soar like and Eagle flies. And as I sit and write this thank you letter its as if I am looking in your eyes. So as I finish up this note to you, I say so long, but not goodbye...it's no wonder to me, why God chose you to be with him beyond the skies!
Love,
Marcelo
