A Letter To Poetry
Dear Poetry,
Growing up I had nothing.
No one to share my thoughts with. It was a sin to have emotions.
I grew up cold.
In a world so cold and brutal.
As I went through trials and tribulations I kept it buried inside me like a dark secret.
I was trapped. Trapped in my sorrows, trapped in my depression, just trapped.
Until I met you.
You taught me how to free myself. How to let go of the pain inside.
You taught me that pain is beautiful. There’s beauty in a struggle.
You taught me how to love myself again. How to take control of my life again.
And for that you get all my glory.
You’ve met a lifelong friend. And I’ll never let you go.
Thank You,
Poetry
