Letter to Self

Dear Self,

This is it.  Decision time.

Whatever you choose now, will affect your lifetime.

Do you gamble on an expensive, elite education and a chance to play soccer

or

Do you settle at a state school and be just another scholar?

To make your choice a little easier, I voice,

I will list for you the pros and cons of your choice.

A State school is great and the the price is just right.

But, the size is so grand and the campus is not tight.

Oh, sure you can find your place, but

will the professors help you through or cast out the disgraced?

Now, on the other hand, again I voice.

There is another choice.

The Elite schools are smaller, but there you can be a baller.

The community is tight, a friend you will find at every green light.

The professors are there to show you the way; not

cause you to struggle and make you their prey.

The money is scary, you don't have to tell me.

But you shouldn't let that get in the way of your journey.

Remember, Daniel, the Lord is with you, while ye be with HIM.

Whatever your choice it will never be grim.

Because, you have both the love of your family for support and

HIM.

Sincerely,

Daniel Burkert
