Letter to a Son
Dear son,
from the kid of his own old man.
Things have gotten fuzzier as days roll by
Along the old winding patters of hard, wet sand.
I was once your age no matter the time
Unless you end up older than me on my last day.
I think about how far you'll go,
Especially on the days that I am away.
How far I went with my dad by my side
Showed me the man I wished to be.
As I now stand right by his side,
I hope you feel the same about me.
So know I love your smile and frown,
the confusion embedded in your deep eyes.
For I saw you in your first day,
and found the reason of my life.
Love,
the son of a father.
