A Letter To Us
Dear Inner Self ,
It’s you
It’s me
It’s us
It’s we
Oh the many places you have yet to see
Soon to venture out
Bringing with you life and light
Into uncharted territory you will sprout
Encountering those full of spite
Not wanting you to go along your predestined route
They say oh the places she will go
This she could not be me
Someone who was never let outside to see
Like the baby who was always told no
This me is about to blow
Separated it was always you and me
Together it’s us and we
One flower that hasn’t yet bloomed
But it’s us so we will open up soon
Traveling far and wide not even limited to the moon
The doors of childhood are coming to a close
And your thirst for adventure surely grows
While you’re out don’t forget life’s lessons
With every confession always remember
It’s you, me, us, and we together we’ll make it —
further than we would separately
