The Letter Before "Y"

Once upon a time ago we had it all,

sunsets, late-night drives, just perfect times.

His blue-green eyes full of wonder and eagerness to strive

is what later killed my perfect life.

He was there for me, always, no matter what

He took care of me, sick and all.

It was passion, trust and mostly love,

that had happiness wrapped around us like a glove.

Car rides with him stopped every bit of reality

because my love for him was not a fallacy.

Then we argued on the little things until we broke up.

Yet after everything, we made up

not as lovers but as friends.

Although it hurt like hell, we made amends.

He is still there for me, always no matter what

He still takes care of me, sick and all.

I kept asking myself,

“Y” did we break up if the passion, trust and love was still there?

“Y” did this amazing relationship have to stop and start again like a flare?

They say poetry comes out of every touch of a lover,

Which is true,

I just wish i would be writing this in the presence of you.
