Letter to you

because I love you,
you have forgive me when it hurts.
you should rip up the mental list of things that I've done,
because it only makes it worse.
& girl don't fight back when I give those empty apologies,
because it'll cloud your judgment when you try to remember how it used to be,
& what you saw in me.
but truth be told baby girl I don't truly love you  ,
but because you always let me come back,
girl I just have a thing for you.
really it's only a fling for you,
& because you give me what I want even though you never get it when I don't ...
buy that ring for you.

because I love you,
I entertain those other girls.
I copy and paste those messages,
telling them that they're my world.
I only practice those sweet sentences on you.
because if you'll accept them even after all the hurt,
I know she'll accept it to.
i love you because,
you accept it when I tell you that it's your fault,
you're okay when I say you're not good enough for monogamy,
and even though I'm only yours sometimes,
you refuse to play on the sideline.
you always let me take the lead,
even you know I'll lead you on.
because even if you only feel this love sometimes,
it holds you over until I come back to you;
then you suddenly forget the pain when you read those messages and I was talking down on you.

Because I love you,
I had to break you.
I had to love you,
make love to you,
& then take it away from you.
you cried like love was a toy.
and for this reason alone, I love you,
because you love me ...
even though I'm just a boy.
