A Letter to You
Dear you,
Thank you for being there for me
Through all the ups and downs
Even when the water wins
You never let me drown
I’m sorry that I need you
Your support and your advice
I know that I can be a lot
Yet you’ve never wagered price
Thank you for being here for me
When I feel like broken glass
You’ve never whined or yelled at me
You always let it pass
I’m sorry I’m so much to handle
I know I bring you stress
But I’m grateful for the way you manage
Sometimes my biggest mess
I wish that I could tell you
How you’ve helped me through the years
I don’t really know why I am scared
I know you’d be all ears
You’re just way too good for me
I don’t deserve to have you
So I’m here for you like you for me
No matter what you go through
I’m so happy to be in your life
I hope you feel the same
I hope I’m just as good as you
Being there when you call my name
I appreciate all you’ve done for me
By my side through thin and thick
You’ve become my greatest thing
The hero to my sidekick
And thank you for the memories
Those silly photographs
Thank you for the experience
All the times you’ve made me laugh
This poem isn’t about one
About me, he, she, or you
This poem is about whoever
It makes your mind drift to
So I hope you’ve felt this feeling
Of love and friendship made to share
Because without this feeling
Lives a life full of despair
Sincerely,
Jilianne Brown
