A Letter For You
You made me think that it was all my fault
Made me believe that I could never be loved again
Made me think that I was a burden
But as I grow wiser, I am able to see that it was you
You were the problem
You were at fault
I simply needed someone to hold my hand
And hold me tight
But you let go on that warm summer night
Never to be heard again
I received the letter that you had written two weeks earlier
I had only thought that it was over
I read that tear stained page over and over and I knew
There were no more days to pass
No more memories to be made
No more words to be spoken
You made me fragile
You made me shatter into a million pieces
Leaving me alone to reassemble the puzzle
How did you believe that I would be better off without you
How could you leave me all alone in this horrid unforgiving world
I loved you so much and yet you still felt unloved
They destroyed you
They made you believe that you were unworthy of love
They made you believe that your life was not worth living
You were perfect
You were perfect in every sense
When you took your last breath you felt utterly alone and unloved
I wish you would have let me know how you were feeling
I wish you would have given me some kind of warning
I will always wonder what I could have done
Could I have changed your mind
Could I have helped you through you struggles
Lord knows you helped me through so many of mine
You left me with so many unanswered questions
But the only thing that I ever wanted you to know is
You were loved
You always will be
You will always hold a place in my heart
A place that can never be filled
Never to be touched by anyone else
You were loved even if you felt that you were not
Cassandra if you were not loved by anyone else
You were loved by me.
