A letter for you in Heaven

It's too late to ask you "Are you there?"
It's too late to show that I care.
I can no longer tell you I love and expect a response.
I am so sorry it took me this long

I was so selfish and caught up with my emotions
I didn't acknowledge that others experience life's frustrations.
When you transitioned, I realised I should have cared.
When we lost you, it brought pain and I became scared.

Days went by and the pain grew.
No one understand what I felt. No one knew.
My pain became anger and aggression the held it tight
I constantly felt the urge to fight.

Instead I am writing this message to you
I will hold our memories tight and never let them go.

I hope my letter to you in Heaven arrives.
