Letters to Legacies

Dear Miss Austen -

My good friend,

I keep with your advice.

Look around you,

See the story,

Write of society.

Dear Miss Dickinson -

My good friend,

I hold to your advice.

Look within you,

Feel the story,

Write of your very soul.

Dear Miss Wheatley -

My good friend,

I stand on your advice.

Look above you,

Hear the story,

Write of the wholly true.

Dear Miss Me -

My own self,

Hold to all this advice.

Look at the past,

Know the story,

Write in the legacy.
