Letters to my heart and brain - The Abusive Relationship
Dear heart,
I know that you and my brain disagree sometimes.
I know that the two of you have different opinions how my life should go.
Sometimes I can tell when you disagree with him and his words get mean
Its like an abusive home.
You start panicking. One in which feels like my whole chest is shaking.
You are pounding so badly, crying so intensely, I wonder if you want to escape.
Are you afraid to speak up? That if you take control, something will go wrong?
Why are you so afraid to feel?
I hope the two of you can work this out. You need him to survive. I need you both.
sincerely,
Destinie June
Dear brain,
Is everything ok in there?
I hear you yell at my heart quite often these days.
Sometimes I wonder if she’s still in there. She becomes so quiet.
She hasn’t said anything to me in weeks.
I must ask.
Why do you need so much control?
Do you fear a time when things are not dealt with in a logical manner?
I think its time to get some help.
I don’t think relationships are meant to be like this.
I hope the two of you can work this out. You need her to survive. I need you both.
Sincerely,
Destinie June
