Letters from my Soul

what is the greatest disappointment

in love?

not betrayal; that's a tradegy

not unrequited; that's a misfortune

but the threat of a love unmatched?

that is the greatest disappointment

the possibility that my love is

nothing but a convienence.

being made to believe that you

are something one cannot do

without...but then cast aside

like a week old meal.

this is the greatest disappointment

it is almost as though you are

salt...the most basic ingredient

that everyone loves and uses

but too much can cause a delicacy's

taste to turn bad.

So must my love be poured in rations?

starved like a soldier in war?

Must i stifle my taste for sweeter lips?

but they ask..."is he really not

who you thought he was...or

not who you wanted him to be?"
